It's mainly because your perceptions at your present age are just too used to your everyday goings on in life. It's your maturity that eases the fear once you hit your mid 30's. Since most people have their lives already setup for them eg having a family, things are a lot easier. During my early 20's I was panicking about everything in life. I had no direction, nothing. Upon reaching 30 it had all changed and my fears banished and I felt so much more confident about everything. It's great! :) A lot of people feel that way about growing older.
