I enjoyed the read on your article thank you. I am a Vista basic user here as I cannot afford the home premium package just yet. I find it ok as an operating system (my last one was windows 98) and I look forwards to playing some dx10 games later in the year when I upgrade this computer.

Hi Ahmed,
It really depends on the rest of your system and it's specs. 1GB ram is enough to run the OS, but 2GB is best in the long run. I've seen 1GB systems running Vista Business fine.

As for ReadyBoost, it does make a difference but just remember that it is no substitute for real ram. It won't make up for the lack of ram though, ReadyBoost is just a special cache for some OS components, but it can help speed up execution time of apps/games. Hope that helps mate.

Hi there, I liked your article, good work :)
I am still using XP Home because I only have 1gb of ram on my system, but I would like to try Vista. Do you think I could use that Readyboost feature to help my lack of ram? I have 2 1GB Corsair sticks here, which are vista certified. Thanks!
