Spider Pig! Spider Pig!
I’ve been feeling rather run down this weekend. To tell the truth, I’m missing an old friend who I haven’t heard from in quite a while. I’m sure she reads this blog, so wherever you are - I hope you’re doing alright.
I needed cheering up, and given that Transformers and The Simpsons movie were both released here in the UK, I wanted to try and watch both in a day, sadly it wasn’t possible as Transformers is completely booked up until Tuesday! Given that Deena is a mad Simpsons fan, we ended up going to watch the early Sunday show.
Now, I’ve got to admit that I am no Simpsons fan. It is probably the longest running cartoon that comes to mind, and I do admit that the handful of episodes I have seen have always made me smile. After watching the movie though I can simply state that the critics of this film have possibly had a sense of humour bypass as I found it very amusing, in fact I ended up laughing like a demented school girl at quite a few of the gags.
The plot is nothing special mind you, and for the most part it’s just a extended episode of the cartoon in essence. When the government discover that the levels of toxicity in the Springfield lake have reached critical levels (thanks to Homer) they quarantine the entire community. Homer and his family however escape from the town and head off to Alaska where they decide to start off anew. However when they find out that the government intends to do more then isolate their forumer hometown, they take action!
There are some very comical moments that made us both laugh out loud, my most memorable bit would be Bart writing "I will not illegally download this movie" on a school blackboard
Top stuff and very well worth a look if you’re a Simpsons fan, and like me, you’ll enjoy if it you aren’t.
You won’t regret seeing the transformers movie. Was expecting a really corny, kids move - as its a PG. Thought it was a seriosuly good film after watching it yesterday. If they made the whole film like the last 30 minutes i would have even bought this on dvd, once released.
Funniest part: listening to a group of transformers geeks cheer when optimus prime appeared for the first time
I’m going to watch it this weeeeeeekend! Can’t wait! I’m not a big fan but do enjoy watching it whenever I can. Not sure about transformers though.

OMG you heard me?
You’ll only see me cheering in that scene with Megan The Fox in
So…The Simpsons then…
lol
@Nokkon: i heard you yes.
This group of people were so sad. I mean gasping when Megatron appears. lol.
Saw the simpsons movie, wasn’t that impressed. I get the overwhelming impression its all be done before.
Hi there! I saw both over there in California and Transformers is the better of the two films. The Simpsons is just an extended episode, albeit a funny one with more gags. Transformers is a lot better even though they completely ‘Americanised’ the Autobots.
I haven’t seen a decent film in ages over here
Too young to have experienced transformers and I HATE Simpsons, so its Evan Almighty for me I guess
