July 2006 - TF2 to be released as a HL2 mod…
September 17th 2007 - Team Fortress 2 Beta begins

I wouldn’t bother staying up to play tonight mate. It won’t be out till very late, and I’m expecting it to be rather unplayable until Valve tweak things.
