Woo! I’m proud to announce that over the next day or so that we will have our own public TF2 server thanks to Jolt UK. ‘We’ referring to the old school Half Life DM/TFC/Quake/etc crew who I have known for utterly years - close to 10 years for a few of them. We have resided on channel #id on Quakenet for many years now.
With the TF2 Beta being a lot more robust than I originally expected, I thought to myself ‘We needs a server, our own, our preciouussses’. So I’ve gone out and gots us one! A 16 player public server will hopefully go live over the next few days and be open to all. It’ll be a good friendly place where hopefully old school TFC’ers can come and visit and have a blast.
We aren’t a clan, just a group of seasoned gamers who have ‘been there and done that’ in the past, so we just play for fun now as we have one of those things called ‘A LIFE’. Right, that’s the bollocks out of the way, now on to the rest of the details.
The server also will support Fortress Forever. Should we decide that TF2 isn’t progressing too well with regards to class balancing, we could end up switching over to that mod in future. Only time will tell.
Oh and lastly, www.halfmad.com has risen from the ashes, albeit in a slightly different form! It’s all bl00 and still run by me good mate Phil. He’s Scottish, bald and a bit of a loony but he has kindly put up a forum for our server. It isn’t finished yet, but shall be soon. In the meantime please feel free to register (that includes you goits in #id) and prepare for much TF2 discussions, rants, wines etc.
Update: 30th Sept: Not heard from Jolt just yet as it’s the weekend. Hopefully they’ll get some progress tomorrow, otherwise I’ll email them for info, as the money has gone out of my account

I still can’t see your blogroll! although the schools filtering system is blocking out most of your front page for some reason and that could be causing it.
TF2 rocks, really looking forward to us having a dedicated server to play on. I’m hoping for the odd “low gravity” and “no guns, hands only” theme nights!
Hmm the blogroll is definitely alive, although I’m not sure why it would be blocked…I need to check this out at work too.

PR and Kainz: where’s yer reviews of the Apple iPod Touch? Tickle me curious. I bought a 4Gb iPod Nano to replace my old iPod mini and chewing gum stick iPod shuffle. Apart from a few hiccups with the new firmware, it’s a treat to use! Absolutely love it.
I was going to buy the iPod Touch but I didn’t want to carry around too many bricks. My crappy Nokia N73 is enough of a brick in my back pocket without the iPod Touch also living in there!

I’m in the middle of my Ipod Touch review right now. It’s been delayed because these gits keep playing TF2 thus making me stop my work to play! PR’s being a lazy goit, and whining about not being able to find the ‘perfect’ headphone! He wants top quality headphones for the price of Hubba Bubba that man!
The review won’t all be nice. It’s no where near the perfect player put it that way, and I have some regrets…
Feck orf, I’m willing to pay for them I just don’t want earphones that make me look like I have a tampon stuffed in each ear!
My iPod touch review is almost complete, just need to get some pics, hopefully later tonight if I don’t get too distracted 0wning Kainz and killing Antlions!

If you want quality headphones you’ll have to accept that you will look like an arse! Besides you’ll be in yer car so who will notice?! It’s not like the public look at Fiat owners!
Kainz, why in the world would I use my headphones while I’m driving my own bloody car?!
In modern cars they actually put a CD/MP3 player in them ya know!! Unlike the buses we can actually choose what we listen to (and unlike the iPod touch it has a radio tuner)!
