Being Two Timed

Yes I’m still alive. I’m just enjoying this incredible summer and heavily busy with work! Right next!

Recently something weird has happened to me. No Deena, this isn’t a post about you…well you better not be two timing me or your iTunes collection gets it!

Recently a relationship based thread on the Overclockers UK forum, where I tend to ‘hang out’ has managed to get me rather riled up.

To surmise things – A poor chap who I shall call Mr.X, in his mid 30’s fears that his girlfriend in her mid 20’s is cheating on him. They’ve been going out for a year now she moved in with him 4 months ago. To cut an even longer story short, there is sufficient enough evidence to prove that she is cheating on him. This ‘evidence’ in some areas was gained by spying on her e.g checking her phone for texts. Not the best of moves but it is easy to stray off the ‘correct’ path when you’re undergoing emotional torment. It is hard to understand how he felt until you’ve gone through the motions yourself obviously.

Apple iPhone v2 – Giv Meh!

Granted it brings little new to the industry in terms of features but that isn’t what it is all about. I have previously said that the OS (Operating System) has huge potential and I stand by that firmly. Wait till you see what is on the way. Given that Jailbreaking my iPod Touch recently brought me in touch with some superb applications virtually transforming my Touch into a device that keeps me almost constantly in touch with news/information/email/instant messaging etc it was clearly the best move I could have done. I can’t live without the hacked Touch now and it is now a tool that I depend on more than my measly mobile phone.

Whilst I’m at home it remains hooked upto my wireless internet connection updating my three email accounts. When I’m on the move it’ll tap into any wireless connection (only useful on foot to be honest!) and update itself (email, rss feeds, euro 2008 realtime results) and when I reach work it taps into a unsecured network and keeps itself updated again. If only I had a phone on this device…

So aside from software potential, what are the cons?

Well for starters 3G isn’t exactly new given that phones are utilising HSDPA now. Apple still insists on making users email photos to each other when MMS is clearly the way forward. Luckily for jailbroken iPhones SwirlyMMS exists as a third party application to do just this. Although whether you would want to with that useless 2MP camera remains a key point. I couldn’t care less about Bluetooth as I hate the power sapping technology. Enough ranting anyway, time for another pic!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

The Fedora Hat returns

It’s not everyday that a couple would go to watch a top hyped film and come out arguing like cats and dogs but that is what kinda happened on Sunday night when Deena and I decided to go and watch the latest Indy film. It’s been ages since I went to watch a film properly so I was pretty excited!

I won’t get in to the nitty gritty of the film because I wasn’t expecting something that could equal Lost Ark and Temple of Doom. Today’s films are in a totally different league to the older ones and Kingdom/Crystal Skull is a good example of how the film industry has changed over the recent years.

Nineteen years – is what separates us from the previous installations. It’s fairly obvious to say that Harrison Ford has aged out of his role as the Professor and part time adventurer. In this era of CGI heavy films you can’t be blamed for thinking that the film could end up as a flop. Luckily the film doesn’t make CGI scenes really apparent. There are some but I shall not spoil things.
