Cooking with Darren – The Rustler Burger

My good PS3 fanboy of a mate, NokkonWud likes to cook. Smug git. Infact his latest antics reminds of my habits early last year. I was a ‘cooking tart’, until I realised there is more to life then paying attention to presentation and detail!

So I’ve decided to do my own cooking feature! It is well known that I am a protein junky. I’m mad about getting quality protein into me, but sometimes…I just can’t be arsed. So, I shall pay homage to the RUSTLER CHICKEN BURGER! :D

Requirements:

  • A Microwave oven
  • £1.00
  • 2 Slices of cheese (none of that dairylea fakeness, I used Edam!)

Preparation:

Rip off the packaging and place burger onto your plate with special advanced cooking ‘plate’. Place burger with cooking plate into your microwave oven. Grab two slices of cheese. Here you see I have two quality slices of EDAM.

Cooking:

Right, if you have an 800 watt microwave then set your burger to cook for 1 minute 10 seconds.

If your microwave has a lower wattage than this, go and buy a damn new one because you’re not using enough of earth’s precious resources, and no you cannot oven cook these things either. Actually you probably could but it would most possibly taste godawful.

Whilst your wait for your minute to pass, go and have a cigarette, make a  sandwich or if you’re PR – eat a bag of icing sugar.

Carefully remove the cooking plate with the burger still on it, and place onto your plate. Remove the cooking plate and lob into the bin. Now here is the tricky bit, you need to get a slice of cheese under the chicken steak and then on top of the steak too. Use a knife to assist you move the piping hot burger so you can place the cheese appropriately.

Replace the bun on top and enjoy! There, didn’t take long did it?!

  • Icing Sugar > Microwave Burgers

  • This isn’t a microwave burger! Its a Rustler burger! Big difference there man! NOM NOM

  • This post is my favourite part of your website. Please make it a regular occurrence. Next I would suggest a Fray Benton tinned pie (or tinned pudding) or both. I have never had a Rustler microwave burger before but am rather disappointed that they do not come with cheese.

One microwave meal I would recommend is the Chicagotown pizza. Although the instructions suggest microwaving for three minutes, when I lived in Walthamstow my microwave was more powerful than Hiroshima and it only took 30 seconds. A more delicious, faster meal I hsve never had.

PS beef contains more protein than chicken.

  • Allo Anteh!

A Fray Bentos Pie in a Tin would be a good idea but I can’t fathom eating one of those things again. As nice tasting as they are, I fear the meat comes from decayed 20yr old animals!

ChicagoTown Pizza…hmm I think I have seen those but never bought them because of their lack of protein content. 3mins in a microwave sounds like overkill for a microwave ready meal though. I’ll check it out today!

Beef is good, but I’ll rarely touch it because I love cows

  • Another CWD feature incoming Mr.Wud! :p
